Plain-language summary: Use TalePort responsibly, respect creators’ rights, and check the terms of any purchase. Creators keep ownership of their work. This summary helps explain the policy; the sections below govern.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Vertivert Inc operates TalePort ("we," "us," or "our"). These terms apply to our websites, reader apps, TalePort Studio, accounts, and related services. By using the service you agree to these terms. If you act for an organization, you must have authority to bind it. Contact support@taleportworld.com with questions.
The Community Guidelines, Copyright Policy, Honesty & Platform Integrity Policy, and applicable purchase or creator policies form part of these terms. The Privacy Policy explains our handling of personal information; acknowledging that notice is not blanket consent to optional processing. Specific written agreements or offer terms govern their particular subject if they conflict with these general terms. Mandatory local law always applies.
2. Age and accounts
TalePort is for people aged 13 or older, or the higher minimum age required where they live. If you are below your local age of legal adulthood, a parent or guardian must authorize your use and any purchase and accept these terms on your behalf where required. Mature content requires adulthood and the applicable age check. Do not misrepresent your age or bypass restrictions. Children's Privacy explains our approach.
Give accurate account information, protect your credentials, and report suspected compromise. Pen names are welcome; impersonation is not. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Accounts, access credentials, and purchased balances may not be sold or transferred without our written approval. We may restrict access to protect accounts or investigate misuse.
3. Reading and service availability
We give you a limited, personal, noncommercial right to access content through authorized TalePort features. Reading does not transfer ownership of a story, illustration, recording, or translation. Do not redistribute downloads, bypass access controls, scrape at scale, or use unauthorized bots. Applicable legal exceptions, including fair use, are preserved.
Catalogs, languages, features, advertisements, prices, and availability can vary by device, country, age, plan, and creator settings. A requested language is not a promised edition. We may maintain, change, or discontinue features, with notice and appropriate remedies for paid services where required. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or perpetual availability of individual works. A creator may withdraw their own work; what you have bought from a withdrawn Series stays readable to you, as Creator Terms describe.
If TalePort itself closes. We will tell you at least 60 days before the service ends, in the app, on the website and by email. During that time you can keep reading what you bought, and we will stop selling new purchases. When the service ends we will refund, to the original payment method or the store you paid, any Story Credits you bought and had not spent (promotional credits are spent first and are not refunded) and the unused part of any subscription you paid for in advance, unless the store you paid refunds it directly. Where the law gives you more, you get more.
4. Your submissions and our limited license
You retain whatever rights you hold in your submissions. You must have permission for material you upload, including art, writing, music, voice, translations, personal information, and likenesses. You grant us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, technically adapt, display, and distribute your submissions as needed to operate TalePort and its authorized sharing features. Our infrastructure providers may exercise those rights only to provide those services for us.
For publicly published work, this includes using reasonable excerpts, thumbnails, titles, and creator attribution to promote that work and TalePort. It does not grant us ownership, exclusive publishing rights, merchandising rights, or a general right to sell your work to third parties. Private drafts are not licensed for public promotion. Creator publishing and withdrawal are described in Creator Terms. AI processing and translated editions require the creator actions described in AI & Localization Policy.
5. Conduct and moderation
Do not infringe rights, threaten or exploit others, distribute malware, attempt unauthorized access, manipulate engagement or revenue, or use TalePort for unlawful activities. We may review reports, limit distribution, remove content, suspend monetization, or restrict accounts according to our policies. We consider seriousness, context, and repeated violations; serious safety or legal concerns may require immediate action. When we remove or restrict your content, refuse to publish it, suspend your account, or withhold earnings, we tell you what we did, the facts and the rule it rests on, whether it was found or decided by automated means, and how to contest it. See the Guidelines for reporting and appeals, and EU Digital Services for our points of contact and how to report illegal content. We do not promise to inspect every submission before publication.
6. Purchases and creator earnings
Subscription, Tips & Refund Policy governs checkout, renewals, cancellations, and refunds. Story Credits are a support balance, not cryptocurrency, cash, or ownership in a creator. Publishing does not guarantee monetization, readership, translation delivery, or earnings. A paid Episode must be what it promises: no filler pages, no asking you to pay again elsewhere for what it offered, and nothing its creator has no right to sell (see the Ad & Subscription Revenue Policy). If one breaks those rules we take it off sale and tell buyers how to get their money back from the store they paid; it stays in your library. Approved creators' revenue arrangements are governed by Creator Terms, Ad & Subscription Revenue Policy, and Story Credits & Creator Support Policy.
7. Closing or restricting an account
You may stop using TalePort and request account deletion. Deletion does not automatically cancel a separately billed Apple, Google, or Stripe subscription; cancel through the provider. We may suspend or terminate access for material violations, fraud, legal obligations, or safety risks. We will provide a reason and an opportunity to appeal where appropriate, unless doing so would compromise safety, an investigation, or legal requirements.
Termination ends your ordinary access rights. Provisions concerning accrued payments, retained records, rights enforcement, disputes, and licenses needed for prior lawful uses or restricted backups survive as necessary. We will not forfeit legitimate unpaid earnings solely because a creator closes an account; legal holds, verified adjustments, and payout requirements may still apply.
8. Responsibility and limitations
We use reasonable care and skill to provide TalePort. Content is supplied by its creators and may contain errors or views we do not endorse. To the extent permitted by law, we do not give additional implied warranties about fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation. We are not responsible for losses caused by your misuse, unauthorized third-party actions outside our reasonable control, or purely indirect losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.
Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including applicable liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury, or mandatory consumer guarantees. You remain responsible for your own unlawful submissions or misconduct. This section does not require consumers to waive statutory remedies or indemnify us for our own wrongdoing.
9. Governing law and disputes
Texas law governs these terms, except that mandatory protections of your home jurisdiction remain available. Please contact support@taleportworld.com first so we can try to resolve a dispute. If court proceedings are necessary, courts of competent jurisdiction in Texas may hear them; consumers may use courts available under mandatory local law. These terms do not impose mandatory private arbitration or waive a right to bring a claim that applicable law protects.
10. Updates and interpretation
We publish changes with an effective date and provide notice of material changes through the service or email as required. We will request renewed acceptance when appropriate. Changes do not retroactively reduce accrued earnings or override statutory rights. If you disagree, stop using the affected service and contact us about any remaining paid obligations. An unenforceable provision is limited or severed without invalidating the rest. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
These policies are currently published in English. Any future official translation will identify its edition. UI language and region settings do not change your legal residence or applicable statutory rights. Where mandatory law requires a local-language notice or agreement, that requirement prevails.
