Plain-language summary: You keep your rights. Publish only work you can license, review translated editions before release, and enroll separately in available earning programs. This summary helps explain the policy; the sections below govern.
1. Scope and eligibility
These Creator Terms apply when you upload, create, publish, or manage content in TalePort Studio or participate in creator programs. They supplement our Terms of Service. You must have legal capacity and the necessary rights or authorization to enter this agreement. You may publish from age 13. Earning on TalePort — tips, sales, and the ad and subscription programs — is open only to creators who are 18 or older, verified, and set up with an eligible payout arrangement; earnings open on your 18th birthday, from the date of birth on your account. A minor must not enroll under a false identity or someone else's account.
2. Ownership and permissions
You retain your rights in your source work and original contributions. Uploading does not transfer ownership to TalePort. You are responsible for permissions covering collaborators, commissioned work, fonts, music, voice, artwork, translations, likenesses, and any material generated with third-party tools. Obtain permission from co-owners before publishing or monetizing. Resolve collaborator shares outside TalePort unless a specific supported agreement provides otherwise.
3. Publishing license
You grant TalePort a nonexclusive, worldwide license to store, host, reproduce, format, transmit, display, and distribute your work through TalePort as you authorize. We may provide that license to infrastructure providers only to operate the service. For public work, we may use limited excerpts, thumbnails, titles, and attribution to promote the work and TalePort. Ordinary formatting, compression, accessibility rendering, and device adaptation do not transfer ownership to us.
This license does not authorize unrelated commercial adaptations, print or merchandise sales, third-party publishing deals, or exclusive rights. Those require a separate agreement. It does not authorize public use of unpublished drafts. AI-assisted generation or translation is governed by your selected workflow and our AI & Localization Policy, rather than a blanket translation or model-training license. We do not use your work to train AI models, and we do not permit the providers who process it for us (for example, to moderate or translate it) to train on it.
4. Review, visibility, and withdrawal
You control the supported draft, review, scheduling, public, and unlisted publishing options. An unlisted link can be shared and is not confidential. Check the publication preview, rights, credits, age rating, translations, and release settings before publishing. Localization does not excuse a violation of the Community Guidelines.
You may withdraw work using available controls or contact support. We will stop new public distribution and new promotional uses within a reasonable operational period, subject to legal obligations and existing paid rights. Previously distributed lawful promotional material, user device caches, and restricted backups may remain; we will not create new uses from withdrawn work under this license. We may retain necessary evidence of rights disputes and transactions. Removing a work does not erase other people's independently lawful quotations or uses.
If you delete your account, your published works stop appearing in listings and stop being offered for sale as soon as you ask, and remain readable by people who already have them during the 30-day recovery window. When the window ends, published works are withdrawn and unpublished drafts are deleted. Readers who bought Episodes keep access to the Episodes they bought, shown under your creator name without a link to your profile; that continued access is an existing paid right under this section. Episodes are not added to a Series after it is withdrawn.
5. Localization and AI tools
Say where AI was used. Each Series asks how its artwork was made (hand-made, AI-assisted or AI-generated) and whether AI tools helped write its story, script, dialogue or a translation, including tools outside TalePort. Readers see your answer beside the rating, and an Episode cannot be submitted until both are answered. Keep the answers accurate as the Series changes; a false answer is a breach of these terms and of the Honesty & Platform Integrity Policy. Spelling and grammar checkers do not count.
A language request records demand and does not require you to buy or deliver an edition. Optional paid tools show their price before purchase. Generation produces a draft; you remain responsible for reviewing and approving publication. Editing a source may mark translations as needing updates without immediately replacing their published text. A language edition belongs to the same Series and does not acquire a separate monetization guarantee. See AI & Localization Policy for rights, publication, reports, and coverage.
6. Earning programs
6.1 Creator support
The standard creator share is 90% of net Tip revenue, with 10% retained by TalePort. Net revenue is the amount attributable to the supporting credits after applicable store or processing fees, taxes, refunds, and chargebacks. It is not 90% of a reader's gross checkout price. Story Credits & Creator Support Policy explains credit valuation and adjustments.
6.2 Paid Episodes
A paid Episode must be a complete Episode: no filler, blank or repeated pages to reach a length; at most one page promoting your other work or channels; no asking readers to pay again elsewhere for what the Episode promised; and nothing you do not have the right to sell, including work under a Creative Commons or other free licence. If a paid Episode breaks these rules we take it off sale, reclaim your share of every sale of it, and tell buyers how to ask their store for a refund. See the Ad & Subscription Revenue Policy.
6.3 Ads and subscriptions
Only enrolled, eligible content participates. The program's applicable creator-pool percentage, ad share, qualification rules, payout threshold, and hold period must be disclosed in the enrollment terms or creator dashboard before participation. The subscription pool is allocated using qualified, weighted reader engagement; ad revenue uses validated ad activity. Rates are not promises of a fixed amount per view. Ad & Subscription Revenue Policy describes the calculation and payment process. A special written agreement may replace the standard offer for that creator.
7. Statements, payouts, and taxes
Provide accurate legal, payout, residence, and tax details and keep them current. Payment processors may collect verification documents directly. Payout availability depends on supported countries, provider checks, cleared funds, the applicable minimum balance, and any legitimate hold. Estimates can differ from settled statements because fees, refunds, invalid activity, exchange rates, and reconciliation arrive later.
You are responsible for your own income taxes; we may report or withhold amounts required by law. We do not guarantee payout on a particular calendar day. Contact support promptly about a statement discrepancy, including the period and relevant entries. We will investigate and explain material adjustments. A balance below threshold carries forward subject to applicable law; it does not disappear merely because the month ends.
When your account is closed, including when you delete it, your remaining balance is paid in a final payout without the minimum payout threshold, once the hold period has passed and subject to verification, tax requirements, legitimate holds, and any amount below the smallest payout we can practically send. A balance we cannot pay — for example because payout or tax setup was never completed — is retained and handled under applicable law, including unclaimed-property law where it applies; it is not forfeited because the account was closed.
8. Violations, disputes, and program changes
We may restrict publication or monetization for policy violations, missing verification, rights disputes, or evidence of fraud. Holds should relate to the affected activity or legal risk. Legitimate undisputed amounts remain payable subject to verification and legal restrictions. You may appeal under the Guidelines and Honesty & Platform Integrity Policy.
We may change or close a program with notice as required. Changes apply prospectively and do not retroactively reduce settled legitimate earnings. We may remove unlawful content immediately. Each time we act on your content or account we tell you what we did, why, whether it was decided by automated means and how to contest it; every such notice is kept in TalePort Studio under Settings → Notices. Copyright reports follow the Copyright Policy: you may answer a takedown with a counter-notice, and an account with three upheld copyright notices is suspended under the repeat infringer policy. General legal disputes follow the Terms of Service. Contact support@taleportworld.com for creator questions.
