What it removes
The request disables normal account access and signs you out. It covers your account information, reading history, Library, follows, and posts, subject to the retention exceptions below.
Some records outlive the account because we are required to keep them: payment and tax records for purchases you made, and anything held for security, fraud prevention or a legal obligation. Those are kept for what the obligation needs and no longer.
If you publish as a creator, your Series stop appearing in listings and stop being offered for sale as soon as you ask, and stay readable for people who already have them during the thirty days. After that, published Series are taken down and drafts are deleted. Readers who bought Episodes keep those. Your remaining balance is paid in a final payout, below the usual minimum too, once the hold period has passed. The account page lists exactly what would come down before you confirm.
Thirty days to change your mind
Deletion does not take effect immediately. For thirty days you can sign back in and stop it, and everything is as you left it. After thirty days the account is erased: your email, name, date of birth, profile, reading history, Library and posts are deleted, and only the records we are required to keep, such as payments and tax, remain. It can no longer be restored. Contact us for the status of an erasure request.
Your subscription is separate
Deleting your account does not cancel TalePort+. A subscription bought on the website is billed by Stripe: cancel it on the TalePort+ page (taleportworld.com/plus). One bought in the app is billed by the App Store or Google Play and has to be cancelled in that store. Either way, billing continues after the account is gone unless it is cancelled. Cancel first, then delete.
If you cannot sign in
Lost the device, or cannot sign in? Write to privacy@taleportworld.com from the email address on the account. We will confirm it is you before deleting anything — that check is what stops somebody else deleting your account.
