Plain-language summary: Use account and device controls where available, or contact our privacy team. Browser clearing, account deletion, and advertising opt-outs do different things. This summary helps explain the policy; the sections below govern.
1. Access and correction
To download a copy of your account data yourself, sign in and use Download my data on your Account page; the file is in a portable, machine-readable format (JSON). For anything the download does not cover, or correction of information you cannot edit, email privacy@taleportworld.com from your account address where possible. Describe the request without sending passwords or full payment details. We may ask for proportionate verification. Profile controls let you edit supported fields. An authorized representative may submit a request where local law permits, with evidence of authority.
2. Account deletion
Use the account-deletion option in the app or follow the instructions on our Account Deletion page. The recovery window is 30 days; necessary financial, legal, security, and restricted backup records may remain afterward as explained in the Privacy Policy. Contact us if you cannot access the account. Cancelling a subscription through Apple, Google, or Stripe is a separate step; deletion does not automatically cancel provider billing.
3. Reading, languages, and region
Where anonymous reading is available, you can read without creating an account, but first-party measurement and technical server logs still occur. Signed-in reading can synchronize progress and preferences. Story-language choices, interface language, and selected region are separate preferences. Changing the region does not erase records or change your legal residence. Contact us to request deletion of server-held preferences or requests that available controls cannot remove.
4. Browser storage
Use Cookie Settings in the footer to clear the browser items covered by that control. Use your browser settings to remove all site storage or cookies. See the Cookie Policy for the inventory and the control's limits. Clearing a browser does not delete server records, disable measurement, or change every device's settings.
5. Notifications and email
Use unsubscribe links in Series emails or contact privacy@taleportworld.com to stop an email follow. Account and device settings manage supported notification preferences. Service, security, transaction, or legally required messages may still be sent where necessary. A language request is not blanket consent to unrelated marketing.
6. Advertising, sale, and sharing choices
Measurement. Google Analytics measures how TalePort is used on the website, in the Studio and in the apps. Change your answer at any time in Cookie Settings (website and Studio footer) or in the app's settings; in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Canada it waits for your yes, and a browser sending a Global Privacy Control signal is treated as a no until you choose otherwise. On the web you can also use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
The public website may carry ads from Google AdSense on free reading pages; TalePort+ removes them. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google's consent message asks before advertising cookies are used for personalization, and its privacy and cookie settings link lets you change that choice. Elsewhere you can turn off personalized ads for your Google Account at My Ad Center, block third-party cookies in your browser, or use opt-out tools such as optout.aboutads.info; you may still see ads that are not personalized. Mobile ad settings depend on the app and device. Use iOS tracking permissions or Android advertising-ID and ad-privacy controls, as applicable; limiting an identifier may not stop contextual ads or delete prior records. An active ad-free plan changes eligible ad display rather than all processing.
To submit a Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information request, targeted-advertising opt-out, or related question, email privacy@taleportworld.com. We will handle it under applicable law and tell you if the relevant processing does not occur. Device settings and this email route are not a claim that an automated platform-wide opt-out toggle is already available. Where applicable law requires recognition of an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, that signal is respected for covered processing: for visitors in those US states, ads on the website are served under Google's restricted data processing, which does not use your information for personalized advertising.
7. Who receives what, and what your choices change
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for personalized advertising. These are the companies that receive personal information from TalePort, what they receive, and why. None of them may use it for their own advertising except as their own terms with you allow (for example, when you sign in with your Google, Apple or Facebook account).
| Company | Where | What it receives | Why | What your choices change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics (Google) | Website, Studio, apps (Firebase) | Pages and screens viewed, actions taken, device and approximate location, a random identifier. Not your name or email. Google signals and advertising use are switched off. | Measuring how TalePort is used | Off until you say yes in the EEA, UK, Switzerland and Canada; off on the web when your browser sends Global Privacy Control; your answer in Cookie Settings or the app applies |
| Google AdSense (website) and AdMob (apps) | Free reading pages, and the free reader in the apps | Device or advertising identifier, approximate location, the page or screen the ad is on | Showing ads that pay for free reading. Ads are requested as non-personalized, and in the apps rated for teens | TalePort+ removes them. Global Privacy Control on the web turns on Google's restricted data processing where state law recognises it; device ad settings apply in the apps |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) | Apps | A push token for your device | Delivering the notifications you turned on | Turn notifications off in the app or the device |
| Sentry | Website, Studio, apps, servers | Error reports: device, app version, what failed. Personal details are not sent by default | Finding and fixing crashes | Not optional: needed to keep the service working |
| Stripe | Card payments on the web and in the Studio; creator payouts | Payment details you give Stripe directly; for creators, the identity, bank and tax details Stripe collects | Taking payment and paying creators | Not optional for a purchase or a payout |
| Apple, Google Play and RevenueCat | In-app purchases | Your TalePort account identifier and store receipts | Granting what you bought | Not optional for an in-app purchase |
| Resend | Your email address and the message | Sending account, purchase and notification emails | Unsubscribe links and notification settings, for non-essential emails | |
| OpenAI | Moderation and creator tools | Pages and words submitted for review; text a creator asks the Studio's AI tools to draft or translate. Not used to train OpenAI's models | Checking content against our rules; the creator tools the creator chose | Not optional for publishing; AI tools are the creator's choice |
| Cloudflare and Railway | Storage, delivery and hosting | Everything TalePort stores and serves | Running the service | Not optional |
| Google, Apple and Facebook sign-in | When you choose one | Your name and email from that account, and a token proving it is you. Facebook's code loads only when you reach for its button | Signing you in | Use email and password instead |
What Global Privacy Control does here. On the website and in the Studio it keeps Google Analytics off and turns on Google's restricted data processing for ads where state law recognises it. Apps cannot read it, so use the app's own analytics choice and your device's ad settings. It does not stop the server records every request leaves, which we keep for security and to run the service.
8. Regional rights, complaints, and contact
The California Privacy Notice and European & UK Privacy Notice explain additional access, deletion, correction, portability, objection, and complaint rights. Other jurisdictions may provide similar rights. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising them. If a request is declined, ask us to review the decision or use the appeal route available under your local law. You may complain to the competent regulator. Contact privacy@taleportworld.com; general account support is support@taleportworld.com.
